| Tombstone of Saul Achtiboli, Prodigy |
Requested
in the Heavenly Academy, a seedling of holiness, all of him a delight,
a pure offering, wise he is called and a guardian of Torah, who existed
but for the sake of wisdom, a staff diligent in his studies, wise and
fearing and removed from evil. He departed in splendor, complete in character
and intellect, a faithful servant who served out of love a perfect service,
a Rabbinical scholar who died while yet in his youth, indeed at 19 years,
his Master took him to delight in him constantly. Behold he is the venerable
sage, young yet wise, His Honor the Esteemed Rabbi, Saul Achtiboli, may
his memory be a blessing, who was taken up on the 6th day, the 29th of
the month of this tragic Elul, in the year 5631 (1871) from creation.
May his soul be bound in the bonds of life, and a Jewish life has departed. |
